We believe in the provision of high quality, responsive health care that is accessible to all patients irrespective of their financial situation.
Our multidisciplinary team of health professionals consisting of radiation oncologists, radiation therapists, radiation oncology medical physicists and radiation oncology nurses are committed to providing patient centric care in a supportive environment.
We pride ourselves on providing delay-free consultations with our radiation oncologists that are aligned with your referring doctors' recommendations. Most patients referred to our specialists can be seen on the same or next day depending on clinical need.
We understand that radiation therapy affects not only patients, but also their family and friends. Our strong local presence helps minimise the distance you need to travel lessening the burden of daily treatment sessions. If you require treatment but cannot readily access transport, Genesis CancerCare Queensland provides a free door-to-door bus service covering several locations on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.
As part of administering best practice care, all patients attending our service receive free medical evaluations with their radiation oncologist during their treatment course. These evaluations are conducted periodically, and our nurses are always available to provide assistance in managing your medical condition.
Genesis CancerCare is committed to improving treatment access for all patients requiring radiation therapy. One way we seek to achieve this initiative is by ensuring we provide affordable care for everyone.
For the majority of patients Medicare covers a significant amount of the treatment cost. However there will be an out-of-pocket expense, which is the difference between our fee and the amount reimbursed by Medicare.
If you have any concerns about treatment fees or financial matters related to your care please contact our patient services team.
